Packaging
The FALKE Seidenglatt 80 Tights are folded around a card rectangle that provides information on the FALKE Beauty Plus collection on one side, and instructions on the reverse on how to put the tights on.
This is then enclosed in a larger card sleeve and then housed in a cellophane envelope.
Materials and features
In upgrading the Seidenglatt range, FALKE has given the tights an improved, even knit structure to ensure a silky feel on the skin. There is also a new, comfortable waistband that promises not to roll or dig in, ensuring the highest possible comfort. Toes are also designed to be non-laddering.
The Seidenglatt 80 packaging says that these tights are “new quality”, and highlights the following features:
- New with a seductive, silky sheen
- Opaque, shiny silk tights
- Improved, even mesh structure for a silky sensation on your skin
- New, comfortable waistband for the highest level of comfort: no curling and no pinching
- Innovative mesh gusset with hygienic effect in sizes S-L and comfort gusset in size XL, with a non-laddering toe.
Made in Germany, the Seidenglatt 80 Tights are 93% polyamide and 7% Elastane and the elastane content has increased. The improved Falke Seidenglatt 80 tights still retain an incredibly soft and sensual feel. In fact, the Seidenglatt 80 perhaps feels even slightly silkier.
The tights are sheer to the waist with no demarcation from the leg to the brief/panty. Seams are flat throughout and expertly engineered as you would expect from Falke.
The brief is deep, as is usual with Falke tights, measuring 25cm from the top of the waistband to the crotch.
Toes are rounded and have almost invisible reinforcement.

Falke Seidenglatt 80 provides even coverage, that hides blemishes and leg hair unless the yarn is over-stretched. Although FALKE says the Seidenglatt 80 has an improved mesh structure, I found it hard to detect this with the naked eye.
The Seidenglatt 80 felt slightly softer and silkier to the touch and when worn on the leg. I am not sure you could get any other opaque with such a wonderfully soft feel. It is truly luxurious. The Seidenglatt 80 also definitely looks much more glossy on the leg, with a very noticeable shine not fully captured in the photos.
I wore both styles in the V – Extra Large size. I always go for this size in Falke as the fit is perfect and consistent. The brief panty stretched comfortably over the waist and hips but sits even higher if needed.
A big improvement is the newly-designed FALKE ‘comfort waistband’, which provides support but with no digging in or construction at all. The overall wearing experience was exceptional. These tights are so soft and comfortable that you won’t want to take them off.
Conclusion
One wonders if FALKE could have improved them, but they have indeed done so. Fit and feel have been further enhanced, with the new yarn. The upgraded “comfort waistband” also works extremely well.
With such outstanding quality, the $31.95 – $33.60 pricing looks reasonable to me. And Seidenglatt 80s seem as robust as the previous 70 version. So they will last a long time if looked after.

Will these last as l long as the previous fabric? are these thicker or just more elastic than the previous version?
Many men wear thermal so this is a great alternative and perhaps more comfortable, if women can wear them why not men.

I must admit I haven’t tried these, but the feel on a lady’s leg of silky nylon is nice so why not men (well plyamide and elastane) in cooler climates? Plus the silky, soft and sensual feel on yourself as a man…..
Men will admit to wearing thermal underwear so there is certainly a market for this. It was very interesting to read the comments that these can also be worn as a woman too.
Can I ask are the sizes different for a man versus a woman, given the natural differences in hips? I didn’t notice it in the sizing chart – or another angle on that question, would the same size for man and woman, be tighter on a woman given larger hips?

Ok this is a little different for me – I had not even considered Men’s Pantyhose and frankly, I was skeptical until I started reading the reasons why in your posts. First off, the Winter Wear – now that makes sense, especially when doing winter activities. The idea of adding warmth without added bulk is a great idea. The compression pantyhose with a fly is definitely something to explore. I noticed that on Amazon it is currently going for $38.44 US. How do I go about sizing myself and how long could I expect this type of hose to last?

At first I couldn’t believe the name of your website, but I realized that the we used to do back in the day, has now turned into a profitable business. I’m talking my days in the army back in the ’80’s. We had to do some extensive training in the field during very cold winter conditions, next to snow covered mountains.
The custom, which was passed down from one new group of army recruits to the next, was “bring along a few pairs of pantyhose”. They worked VERY well against the cold.
